Location Help

There are several ways to select a search location:

  • Click the "All" radio button if you don't want to specify a search area.
  • The "Point" and "Point (from Map)" options are used to select a circular area.
  • The "Area" option allows you to define a rectangular search area.
  • Finally, you can search by the "Text Location"

    Point Selection

    Type the latitude and longitude of the point to be the center of the search circle.
    Remember to choose the correct direction i.e. N or S, W or E. Type the radius of the circle into the appropriate box (in kilometres).

    If you want to select from the map, select the "Point (from map)" option, fill in the radius and click the map.

    The query will take the curviture of the earth into account when selecting the quakes.
